Pizza production line

Everyone gets a station — dough squashing, sauce spreading, topping design — and dinner sorted at the end.

  • Indoors
  • About an hour
  • Calm
  • Low cost
  • Ages 4–12

What you need

  • Pizza bases or dough
  • Passata
  • Cheese
  • Any toppings you have

How to run it

  1. Set up a row of bowls along the table, one topping per bowl.
  2. Youngest squashes and shapes the bases.
  3. Middles spread sauce and lay out toppings.
  4. Oldest handles the oven and calls the timings.
  5. Score each pizza out of ten before eating it.

Making it work for every age

Younger children: Give them a ball of dough to squash and a bowl of grated cheese to sprinkle — no knives, no oven.

Older children: Put them in charge of the dough recipe and the oven timings, and challenge them to invent a signature topping.

Keep it safe

Only over-11s near the hot oven, and always with an adult in the kitchen.
